What is a "Contributor" in Pickit?

The Contributor role makes it easy to let other people help add and manage content in Pickit without giving them full administrator access.

Contributors are given access to specific collections where they can contribute content. This is useful when you want colleagues, external partners, agencies, photographers, or other content creators to upload and manage files in Pickit, while keeping control over the rest of your account.

How does Contributor access work?

Contributor access is assigned to specific collections, allowing you to decide exactly where someone can contribute without giving them broader Admin access to your Pickit account. This also makes the role suitable for external collaborators, who only get access to the collections they have specifically been invited to.

When should I use the Contributor role?

The Contributor role is useful whenever someone needs to provide or manage content in Pickit but doesn't need full administrative access.

For example, you could use Contributors to:

  • Let a photographer upload new campaign images directly to a collection.
  • Allow an agency to deliver approved brand or marketing assets.
  • Let colleagues from another team maintain content for their department.
  • Collect files from external partners without giving them access to the rest of your Pickit library.

This gives administrators more control over who can contribute content and where, while making it easier for content owners to keep Pickit up to date.
